The workshop was delivered by Mr. Maher Mansour, Student Affairs Supervisor for the Primary School at the Arab International Academy, on Saturday, 12 September 2026, with the participation of teachers and educational supervisors from various grade levels.

The training was based on the book Hacking School Discipline by Nathan Maynard and Brad Weinstein, translated by educator Naim Himad and published by Tarsheed Educational Publications. It focused on introducing a restorative approach to school behavior, based on understanding behavior as the outcome of multiple factors, relationships, and contexts, rather than merely a violation requiring punishment. The workshop also addressed practical strategies for fostering empathy, responsibility, and a sense of belonging; creating a safer and more supportive school environment; developing students’ self-awareness; and strengthening their decision-making and problem-solving skills.

The workshop adopted an interactive, practice-based learning approach through the analysis of real-life case studies, collaborative reading, visual-thinking strategies, group work, and the use of digital tools to support interaction. This enabled participants to exchange experiences and develop practical ideas for implementing the restorative approach in their schools.

The Tarsheed Program for Teacher Training is a professional development program for teachers, comprising a range of activities and training courses designed to develop and strengthen their skills across various contemporary educational fields.

Participants benefit from Tarsheed Educational Publications, which provide practical training materials addressing both foundational and contemporary educational concepts and help teachers apply them in the classroom. The interactive training sessions are delivered in Arabic, ensuring their relevance to the Arab educational context.

The training program for the upcoming academic year is available here. Contact us now to book your workshop!
