Tarsheed Educational Publications has launched the second edition of Teachers’ Professional Practices: Between Theory and Practice, authored by Dr. Rola Koubeissy, Dr. Aziz Rasmi, and Youssef Amhal. This new edition builds on the book’s contribution to teachers’ professional development and its role in strengthening the connection between theory and practice in education.

The book is intended for teachers at all stages of their careers, whether they are just starting out or have extensive professional experience. It offers them an opportunity to develop their educational interventions and teaching practices both inside and outside the classroom. It also serves as a valuable resource for supporting students’ academic and educational success and improving school performance and effectiveness within a safe, inclusive, and tolerant environment.

The book explores a range of essential educational concepts that help practitioners develop a broad understanding of the teaching process and its various dimensions. It also strengthens the theoretical and practical knowledge of the different stakeholders within the school environment, enabling them to improve students’ academic achievement and enhance their well-being.

Combining theoretical frameworks and concepts with practical applications, the book presents classroom examples and experiences drawn from educational practice, direct engagement with teachers, classroom observations, and interviews. Rather than offering these experiences as ready-made models to be replicated, it encourages readers to examine them through a critical and reflective lens, making their application more relevant and effective across different educational contexts.

The book does not presume that there is a single method for effective teaching. Instead, it gives teachers the opportunity to reflect on their role, evaluate their practices, and develop them in ways that respond to the diverse needs and dynamics of their classrooms. It also provides a range of practical tools and procedures for trainers in professional development institutions, educational consultants, and leaders of educational institutions, helping them perform their educational roles more effectively.

The book has received notable recognition, having been shortlisted in the Education category of the inaugural Sheikh Youssef Bin Issa Book Award 2025-2026. This recognition reflects the significance of its subject matter and its contribution to the development of teachers’ educational and professional practices.

The 304-page book is divided into four sections: Teachers’ Professional Development: Between Reflection and Practice; Professional Classroom Practices: An Exploration of Selected Concepts; Developing the Classroom and School Environment; and Employing Technology in Education.
