The Tarsheed Professional Development Program held its first professional development workshop in Qatar, titled “The Inquiry Mindset”, delivered by educational consultant Ms. Ghada Maalouf on Friday and Saturday, October 3-4, 2025. The workshop brought together teachers and educational supervisors from various grade levels.
A total of 27 participants from multiple schools attended the workshop, each receiving a copy of the book “The Inquiry Mindset”, published by Tarsheed Educational Publications, authored by Trevor Mackenzie and Rebecca Bushby, and translated into Arabic by Ali Ezzedine.
The workshop aimed to equip teachers with effective questioning practices in the classroom as a core approach to developing students’ critical thinking, intellectual curiosity, and deep learning.
Over 12 hours of interactive training, participants explored key concepts of inquiry-based learning, strategies for creating a classroom environment that encourages questioning, and hands-on sessions to implement student agency and make questioning visible in daily classroom practices.
The workshop concluded with a reflective group discussion on the impact of the experience and strategies to sustain a culture of questioning throughout the academic year. Participants highlighted the practical, collaborative nature of the training as particularly valuable.
The Tarsheed Professional Development Program is a professional development initiative for educators, offering a range of workshops and courses designed to enhance teachers’ skills in contemporary and diverse areas of education.
