The Tarsheed Teacher Training Program held its second educational training session in Qatar, a workshop titled "Concept-Based Inquiry," presented by educational consultant Ms. Ghada Maalouf on Friday and Saturday, January 16-17, 2026. The workshop was attended by a group of teachers and educational supervisors from various grade levels.
Held at the Arab International Academy in Lusail, the workshop was attended by 25 trainees from different schools. Each participant received a copy of the book "Concept-Based Inquiry in its Applied Stages," published by Tarsheed Educational Programs, authored by Carla Marshall and Rachel French, and translated by Haifa Abu Al-Nadi.
The workshop aimed to empower teachers to utilize concept-based inquiry as an effective approach to deepening student engagement and enhancing their understanding of knowledge in a more meaningful and relevant way. Through practical examples and interactive activities, participants learned how to design learning units based on core concepts and effectively guide students toward building a deep and lasting understanding.
The workshop also explored ways to foster interdisciplinary transfer of knowledge, enabling students to apply their learning to real-life situations and contributing to the development of their critical and inquiry-based thinking skills.
At the end of the workshop, teachers were able to apply the principles of conceptual inquiry in their classrooms in practical ways that support active learning and long-term understanding.
