Tarsheed Educational Publications has announced the release of the book "Learning Difficulties: From Early Intervention to Inclusive Education", a new educational publication that seeks to address a significant gap in Arabic-language resources on learning difficulties through a contextualized, practical, and critically informed approach.
The book responds to the growing need for educational resources that move beyond fragmented translations, highly theoretical discussions, and technical models disconnected from the realities of Arab schools and classrooms. It aims to provide teachers, educators, and specialists with tools and perspectives that are both academically grounded and practically applicable.
The publication approaches learning difficulties not simply as isolated diagnoses, but as part of broader questions related to learning, difference, educational justice, and inclusion. In doing so, it calls for more equitable learning environments capable of responding to the diverse needs of learners.
Structured across six integrated chapters, the book explores the development of the field from medical to educational perspectives, the linguistic implications of learning difficulties in Arabic-speaking contexts, the role of early intervention, contemporary approaches to assessment and support, the relationship between learning difficulties and emotional and behavioral disorders, and inclusive education practices.
The book was prepared by the Tarsheed Educational Publications team in collaboration with chief editor Dr. Sukaina Al Nabulsi and a group of Arab specialists, including Dr. Suhail Al Haidari, Dr. Khaloob Kawar, Ms. Nidal Jouni, Dr. Farah Al Zain, and Prof. Heyam Al Taj.
This project forms part of a broader effort to contribute to the development of an authentic Arabic educational knowledge base that supports teachers, embraces learner diversity, and strengthens inclusive educational practices across the Arab world.
